How Do I Become an ITI TAB Certified Technician?

  1. Print or view the TAB Application, Standards and Procedures Manual and read it thoroughly.  Complete an online application at www.icbcertified.org. Once you have logged in or registered with the website, you can follow the steps in the My Applications section of your profile to apply for TAB certification.


  2. Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed and you will be notified of your acceptance.


  3. When you are ready to take the written tests, contact the ITI or JATC coordinator to schedule a test.


    1. Tests are usually given at the JATC


    2. Tests can be taken traditionally or online.


    3. All tests must be proctored.


  4. After successful completion of the written tests, you are eligible to take the performance tests.


  5. Performance tests are held at ITI's certified testing labs.


    1. Each testing session is proceeded by a one-day seminar


    2. Each test is one full day in length


  6. At the successful completion of the Performance Test, you are granted certification.


    1. You are issued an ID card, certificate, and stamp.


  7. Your certification will be renewed every 2 years if you maintain eligibility.
